1,000 Tweets. 514,223 followers. 2,644,738 impressions. That is the measureable impact of Tweetstock 6: Tweetstock Goes Hollywood. And that’s just the day of the event. That doesn’t include the pre and post event discussions.
Tweetstock 6 saw an evolution from an evening networking presentation to a full day seminar targeted at the entrepreneurship of social media. That evolution has allowed business owners to embrace the need for social media integration into their existing marketing plans and businesses. In addition, it has open doors to new colleagues and customers thanks to the connections made by their attendance at Tweetstock.
As we look back at the successes of Tweetstock 6, we once again turn to the numbers. 17 speakers, 20 sponsors, and 21 volunteers helped us accomplish our goal of putting on an incredible event. 270 people attended the event, with more than 10 major municipalities in southern Ontario represented. All 3 levels of government turned out to support the event, including Brantford Mayor of the Month Larry Kings, Brant MPP Dave Levac, and Brant MP Phil McColeman. Thanks to our sponsors, discounted tickets were provided to give local charities the opportunity to attend. The event was covered by 5 media outlets, including CTV and CommandN.
We have learned some valuable lessons that will allow us to continue to provide the best experience possible for everyone involved. Brantford is becoming a social media centre of excellence for south western Ontario, and it is our hope that we might even see Brantford not only be the Telephone City, but also the Social Media City.
